Week 5 Day 1 2011-04-02 60 back on track
Week 5 Day 2 2010-09-19 53 Max to date. Hoping to get to 50 permanently and be able to reach that plateau on even a 'bad day.'
Week 5 Day 3 2010-05-03 43 Forty-three! Progress. Hopefully I can hit that elusive 45.
Week 5 Day 2 2010-05-01 41 Shoulder pain still there but actually got some sleep. 41 - might have been able to eek out another, but deferred to the shoulder. Don't want to make it worse or substantially injure it.
Week 5 Day 2 2010-04-27 40 Went back to Week 5 Day 2, Column 2, which requires 40 push-ups final set. Made it this time. Shoulder and wrist pain.
Week 5 Day 3 2010-04-24 40 Column 2 Had to take a break at about 37/38 and get up into the rest position before knocking out the remaining few. Not sure why I'm in a progression slump. Perhaps the pain in my left shoulder or bad sleeping habits. Will start over on week 5 column 2 on Monday.
Week 5 Day 3 2010-04-22 38 Failed again before even reaching 40. Still have left shoulder pain. Moving back into second column on Friday.
Week 5 Day 2 2010-04-20 39 Failed after 39 Finished the next 6 on my knees. Have some pain in my left shoulder, not sure of the exact cause, but I think it affected me a bit. Will keep at it. I'm a bit disappointed though because I was solid with 40 at least.
Week 5 Day 1 2010-04-15 39 Moved to column 3. Hitting a wall trying to get to - 45. Only got to 39 this time. ...this column is punishing. Also, I didn't really get much rest last night, maybe that took 4 or 5 out of me, we'll see Friday.
Week 5 Day 3 2010-04-13 42 Damn. The 45 max seems to be a wall for me. Can't wait to break through, but I think I'm going to try to stick with this level until I can get it.
Week 5 Day 3 2010-04-10 42 3 Short! Damn! I rested a good amount before the last set too. Perhaps I should stay on this workout this coming Monday. I also think I should redo my 'count' process. I did the first 5 and then counted them out in 10s. It made the last set a daunting 10 to get to 45. Maybe the first 4 sets should be 10s and then the last set just 5 - to 'bring it home.' I'll try that on Monday.
Week 5 Day 2 2010-04-08 45 Did all the under sets on the suggested 45 seconds rest, except the max set. I rested probably ten minutes, but got 45!
Week 5 Day 1 2010-04-06 40 Moved on to the 5th week but in the second column rather than the third. Still going.
Week 4 Day 3 2010-03-29 39 Sticking with the week four routine until I can get it done with appropriate rest times.
Week 4 Day 3 2010-03-27 40 On paper, I pass week four, but I'm going to stay on the week four targets for the next week. To make sure I've got them down solid before moving on.
Week 4 Day 2 2010-03-24 39 Made it to 39 in the last set but needed far too long to rest between sets. I'm going to stay on this weeks numbers for a while until I can do them all in the requisite time.
Week 4 Day 1 2010-03-22 33 Wow. Getting really hard. Again, I completed the workout but needed longer than a minute before doing the 'max set.' Finished with 33. Wondering how many I could do 'cold' now before tiring my muscles with the four sets.
Week 3 Day 3 2010-03-20 30 Getting harder. Still needing longer than 60 seconds rest between sets, but getting it done in good form and still meeting the max.
Week 3 Day 2 2010-03-18 34 This thing steps up exponentially. It was pretty difficult this go around. Had to take more than 60 seconds rest between. Finished with 34 max. Above schedule so far. Hope it works.
Week 3 Day 1 2010-03-15 29 First day of the training program. I tested into the third week. Hope it works. The first four sets really get to you with only 60 seconds rest between.
